Come join us at Discover Marina del Rey Day 2009 from
11am-4pm at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del
Rey. This fun-filled annual event has plenty of
varied excitement and information for the entire family. The
Department of Parks and Recreation will be present to offer
unique arts and crafts workshops and to promote healthy living
and eating. Other local government agencies, as well as
various businesses, will have exhibitor booths offering vital
information on health, safety, and the environment. There's live
entertainment with the AC Timba Jazz Project, performing Latin
Jazz, sponsored by the Los Angeles County Arts Commision;
shows all day from the famed Bob Baker Marionettes; and a
sensational performance by the Venice High School choral group,
the Allegros.
The W.A.T.E.R. Youth Program will also offer leisure kayaking in
the main channel from 1pm-4pm for visitors ages 6 and up. An
adult must accompany children under the age of 10 and good
swimming skills are strongly recommended.
The purchase of a $5.00 wristband entitles visitors to catch the
excitement of inflatables, rides, games, snack carts, and a
pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
Parking is available in County Lot 4 for $5.00. For more

DIRECTIONS:
From the 405 freeway in West Los Angeles, take the 90 freeway
west. At Mindanao Way, turn left, and cross Lincoln Boulevard.
Continue on Mindanao Way across Admiralty Way, and park in Lot
#4. Walk west to enter Chace Park. |

MARINA DEL REY HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE, SETS SAIL IN MARINA DEL REY.
The 47th Annual Holiday Boat Parade sets sail in the main channel of Marina del Rey
with a preview parade on Friday, December 8, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The Parade will
be held on Saturday, December 13, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. It is estimated that more
than 70 beautifully lighted and decorated boats will participate in the event that is free
to the public. The theme for 2006 is "Water Winter Wonderland".
The parade leads off with a spectacular fireworks display at
5:55 pm on Saturday evening.
Parking is available at Los Angeles County public parking lots throughout Marina del Rey.

FREE NEW YEAR'S EVE FIREWORKS
Marina del Rey will usher in the New Year with
a spectacular free fireworks show off the Marina South Jetty on
New Year’s Eve, December 31. The fireworks will begin at the
30-second countdown to midnight, and continue into the opening
minutes of 2009.View is possible from almost anywhere in Marina
del Rey, but the views from Burton Chace Park and Fisherman's
Village are outstanding.. |
