Whale Watching,  the annual migration of the Pacific Gray Whale from the Arctic to the warm lagoons of Baja, California occurs.

APRIL
April 15-17 37th Long Beach Grand Prix - By far the biggest event is the Long Beach Grand Prix in  Many guest boaters use their boat as a hotel for this event and reservations for guest moorings are a necessity. Special access is always provided for boaters so they may go in and out of the marina during this street racing event. In spite of this advantage, many other boat owners choose this week to go skiing!

June 25-27 Long Beach Ullman Race Week
JULY
July 17 Catalina Ski Race:  The 61th running of the world’s largest water-ski race from Long Beach’s Belmont Pier to Catalina Island and then finishing at Queensway Bay. For more information, contact: 714/894-3498.

November 20-21 ABYC Turkey Day Regatta, Hosted by ABYC, Turkey Day is the largest regatta every year at ABYC, with over 270 entries and 20 classes in 2009. Three race courses, two days and one great turkey dinner.

Naples Christmas Boat Parade - Long Beach
Small boats start at 6 pm from the 2nd Street Bridge, large boats start at 6:30 pm near Alamitos Bay Yacht Club.
Viewing Locations:  From the bridges and along the canals around Naples Island you see the small boat parade.
From the 2nd Street Bridge and along Alamitos Bay Marina you can also see the larger vessels that don't fit in the canals.
